Welcome to Oak Tree Books! We are a new, woman owned, independent children's bookstore in Mississauga, Ontario. We need your help to bring our community bookstore to life!

Mississauga is losing the close community feeling that it once had. As streets become busier and more corporations move in, the small community businesses are disappearing.

Did you know that when you spend $1 in a local store, 66 cents stays in the community? But when you spend $1 at a big box store only 11 cents stays in the community. And if you spend $1 at an online billion dollar giant, only 8 cents stays in the community. (Canadian Federation of Independent Business)

At Oak Tree Books we want to build a community through reading. Through programs like Mommy and Me, baby story time, family store time, crafter-noons, community gardening, local author events, and partnerships with other local businesses, we will be providing a space for families to connect meaningfully with each other and the overall community.

The funding that is raised will help us to take our store from being online only to a physical location where our community building dreams can become true.
